TRAIN YOUR SERVICE DOG WITH CONFIDENCE, NOT CONFUSION
Our personalized program gives you the expert guidance, structure, and support you need to raise and train your own service dog, without burning out.
Owner-Training Your Service Dog, with a Plan That Makes Sense
We help you navigate the process with structure, coaching, and clarity.
You’re ready to do the work.
You just need a roadmap, the right support, and a training plan that’s actually built around you and your life.
Our Owner-Trained Service Dog Program is designed for people who want to be hands-on in the process and have professional guidance every step of the way.
Whether you're starting with a puppy or refining tasks for public access, we help you avoid the common pitfalls of owner-training by giving you the structure, feedback, and expert oversight needed to be successful.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Hands-on support to work on core skills, troubleshoot issues, and help you feel confident with your handling and communication.
GROUP CLASSES
Structured opportunities to practice around other dogs and distractions, essential for public access readiness and fluency.
TASK TRAINING
Whether you're focusing on mobility, medical alert, interruption, or psychiatric tasks, we help you shape meaningful, functional behaviors that will support your needs.
COACHING & SUPPORT
You’ll get support between lessons via email, text, and our private student community — because owner-training isn’t a once-a-week process.

"I couldn't be more grateful to our trainer Alyssa (and Tamara). We brought our dog in for medical service training, and I am pleased to announce we passed our assesment first round. You can tell Alyssa genuinely cares, she works in small understandable steps and that all eventually plays into the big picture. She worked with myself, my husband and our son and made sure we were making daily advances, when we weren't she focused on our dogs mental well being and advised a 4day break for decompression. He came back better, and more attentive than ever - her understanding of canines far surpasses training".

"CDT has been an incredible partner and invaluable resource in my training journey. My golden retriever, Sophie, and I completed both the canine good neighbour program and the 6 month service dog in training program, as well as attend regular drop-in / maintenance classes.
Alyssa has been absolutely incredible and both her and Tamara's support has been paramount in our success. Sophie is now working alongside me as a trained facility dog at my psychology practice and has already made a positive difference in so many of my clients' lives."
