003 - Pee-Pee Routine

Tamara Champagne

In this solo episode, I discusses the importance of having a pee-pee routine for competition dogs, especially for our scent detection and nosework competitions. I share my (unfortunate) personal experience with my own dog marking in a search area and the negative impact it had on his confidence and motivation. This pee-pee talk is somewhat of a motivational talk for you, while I also emphasize the need for predictability and how this reduces handler anxiety. It's a win all around! I also provide step-by-step instructions on how to teach a pee-pee routine, which will help every scent work competitor. Have a listen and let me know what you think! I would love to save someone from making the same mistakes I did! Hope this helps :)
