Service Description

Teaching your canine to retrieve (anything, for any sport) is a very systematic process that takes time and commitment. It is very important that we don't ask our canine to do a skill without understanding how to do all the pieces successfully leading up to that skill. One thing that's often overlooked is the idea that our canine's must know how to hold, before they can retrieve. Join us for the first part of our Trained Retrieve series where we teach you the concept of "hold". We will teach you how to avoid the common pitfalls of the hold such as: - Mouthing / chewing - Rolling the retrieve item - Releasing the retrieve item before being asked too Trained Retrieve - Part 1 - Hold takes place over two dates for 1.5 hours each session. Handlers and canines best suited for this class include those looking to start a hold from scratch or improve an existing hold. These sessions are mandatory for handlers who wish to complete the Trained Retrieve series. Homework will be required between sessions to ensure you and your canine can progress! *Wood dowel included in registration
