Sport Detection Hide Swap and Info

Join us for our first annual hide swap!

Canine Development and Testing

Service Description

Join the CDT Sport Detection Community December 30, 4:30pm for a hide swap. What's that, you ask? Ever heard of a cookie exchange? People bring enough baked cookies for everyone and you exchange with the other guests. Everyone leaves with several dozen cookies. Well, we're going to do this with sport detection hides! It's important to train on hides prepared by someone else to help our canines generalize their target odors. It's also sometimes annoying to buy all the supplies by the dozen (or more) when you only need a few. How it works: Every guest brings one type of hide vessel ie: tin, shrink tube etc. enough for everyone there, and in return you'll get new hide vessels from everyone else. What to bring: - Enough hide vessels / carriers / to share - Glass jar(s) - One for each odor - Air tight container to carry everything home - Adult beverage (obviously...) ** More details on supplies, with examples and where to purchase, coming soon What's included: - Use of CDT's essential oils - Gloves for preparing hides - Demo on preparing hides But wait, there's more: This is a great opportunity to have new and experienced handlers in one place so we're going to do an info session on sport detection. What it's all about, how to get involved, and who the organization's are. This is a FREE event, but you must RSVP so we can update everyone on how many vessels we need to supply. We hope to see you there!
